It All Started Here.....
It was the fall of 1981, when Plano East Senior High opened its doors for the first time. It was at that moment the high school wrestling world would be forever turned around. Plano East had adopted its first wrestling program and hired on Randy Jefferies to be the head coach. Under Coach Jefferies Plano East's wrestling team took off and they were able to capture several State placements in wrestling which resulted in 1 State champion, his name was Ro Akins. After Coach Jefferies departed the wrestling team they were in search of a new coach one that could take the program to the next level. They found that candidate in Alan Koebke. Under the guidance of coach Koebke Plano East wrestling teams have had 4 State Champions and 22 overall State placers with several wrestlers going on to wrestle in College. One notable wrestler was Mo Lawal, he was a Division 2 National Champ at Central Oklahoma and was a 2-time Olympic alternate.
